Act one
Act one is the set up of the story and is always at the beginning. There are any many ways of starting a story for example some story's, for example splinter cell, start the story at the climax in act 3, and just before the main plot of the story unfolds, you are sent back to the actual beginning. This is a good technique because it can keep you guessing throughout the story. Act one usually sets up the scene for the whole story and sets up a series of events that the player will have to go through.
Act two
As mentioned before, act two is the main bulk of the story and is generally the events in which act one set up. this is where the player will have to carry out those events or actions to progress through the story and get to the finish. typically, act two is the largest and longest part of the story, mainly because this is where all of the conflict happens and all the events happen. Act two can also be very informative to the story, as secret hidden gems will be able to be accessed in this part of the story.
Act Three
Act three is always considered yo be at the end of the story. This is where the climax of the story comes to a close and all loose ends are tied off leaving no cliff hangers. Unless the writers want to make another book, movie or game. This section is usually where the meaning of the story is revealed and the character may have learnt something new about him/her, life, love ect. This is usually shorter than the others by a lot because the ending must not have any roller-coaster emotional ups and downs, because the story must come to a close. This si also where lessons are learnt and the moral of the story is revealed. The main character may turn to normal again, or because of the changes that have happened throughout the story, changed them for the better. At the end of the story this is also where a twist can suggest a squeal.
Game Story lines

However the trilogy (Halo 1, 2 and 3) tells a story of master chief fighting the covenant and the flood. In the last of the trilogy you find "The Ark" which is a device that activates all of the Halo rings. 117 sets out to destroy it along with the hive mind of the flood "The Gravemind" which controls all of the flood. At the climax of the story 117 decides to activate the ark and one of the last remaining rings because it is outside the blast radius of the galaxy. Whilst being chased by the flood and the Covenant, Master chief must get off the planet and through the portal to safety to avoid the explosion. His ally "The Arbiter" makes it through okay, and the master chief is cut off and left drifting through space, cryogenic-ally frozen to await rescue.
